Love one another as Jesus has loved us.

Are you a perfectionist or know someone who is? This recovering perfectionist can testify to what it’s like to live in Perfectionism Hell.

I had to be the best at everything. Which as anyone knows is impossible.

The result?

Low self-esteem and the need to continually prove my worthiness haunted my every waking moment. It defined my identity— how I perceived myself.

Thankfully, that day when I internalized my identity as a child of the most high God because of who I was in Christ changed everything.

Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done. So none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:9-10

God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts. Prompting us to call out, “Abba, Father.” Now you are no longer a slave but God’s own child. And since you are His child, God has made you His heir. Galatians 4:6-7

For I am convinced and continue to be convinced beyond any doubt that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present and threatening, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the unlimited love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39

For now in this time of imperfection we see in a mirror dimly— a blurred reflection, a riddle, an enigma. But then when the time of perfection comes we will see reality face to face. Now I know in part, just in fragments, but then I will know fully just as I have been fully known by God. 1 Corinthians 13:12

What can disciples of Christ expect in Eden 2.0 after Christ returns?

All physical, emotional and spiritual needs will be abundantly— perfectly satisfied. No more scarcity, poverty of soul or unfulfilled dreams. Blaming others, circumstances and even Papa Himself will be no more. Resurrected, eternal bodies will be impervious to sickness, sin, the consequences of the curse.

Physical and spiritual death will cease to exist. Christ will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will no longer be death. There will no longer be sorrow and anguish, or crying, or pain. For the former order of things has passed away. Revelation 21:4

The earth will be ecologically and esthetically perfect. An environmentalist dream come true. Mankind will be perfect stewards. Caring for Creation, not destroying it. Creation will once again be good in Papa’s sight.

Perfect peace and tranquility will permeate man’s existence. There’ll be no more wars, offense or confusion. That peace which reassures the heart. That peace which transcends all understanding, That peace which stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus is yours. Philippians 4:7

Glorious relationships with others and Christ will be the norm because of holy heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Above all, perfect love— the perfect bond of unity and the peace of the Messiah will control your heart.

Work will no longer be laborious or boring. It will be satisfying and fulfilling because it will be perfectly matched to whom Papa envisioned when He created you.

Christ’s perfect, unbiased justice will rule— eternal, absolute righteousness integrity, virtue, uprightness in purpose

A disciple of Christ, like the apostle John, will witness a new heaven and a new earth. For the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband Revelation 21:1-2.

Arrayed with God’s glory, its radiance like a most rare jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal. Revelation 21:11

Nothing evil[ will be allowed to enter. Nor anyone who practices shameful idolatry and dishonestynly, But only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Revelation 21:27

God will make His presence among His people in Jesus Christ.

No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it. His servants will worship Him. They will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads.

Night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun. For the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever. Revelation 22:3-5
