Healing— restoration requires resting in the Lord. Trusting Papa unconditionally.
A rest that declares…
I will live in the present, not the past nor the future.
I am not God, and my efforts without the Holy Spirit’s guidance will be futile.
This rest can’t be added as a task on your “to do” list because it’s a condition of the heart. When your heart is “at rest” the chaos and uncertainty of your circumstances are drowned out by Papa’s loving voice. Gently encouraging you.
“My child, listen to Me and do as I say, and you will have a long, good life. I will teach you wisdom’s ways and lead you in straight paths. When you walk you won’t be held back. When you run you won’t stumble.
Take hold of My instructions. Don’t let them go. Guard them, for they are the key to life. Proverbs 4:10-13
What are Papa’s instructions?
Don’t worry about the wicked or envy those who do wrong. For like grass they soon fade away. Like spring flowers they soon wither.
Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.
Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you your heart’s desires.
Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust Him, and He will help you. He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun.
Be still in the presence of the Lord and wait patiently for Him to act.
Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.
Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper. It only leads to harm. For the wicked will be destroyed, but those who trust in the Lord will possess the land. Psalm 37:1-9
Resting in the Lord isn’t something that comes easily to many Christians.
Why?
Many equate activity with productivity because it provides a false sense of control.
But…
This addiction to business is in direct opposition to both Jesus’s command and promise.
Come to Me all who are weary and heavily burdened by religious rituals that provide no peace, and I will give you rest. Refreshing your souls with salvation. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me. Following Me as My disciple, for I am gentle and humble in heart. You will find rest, renewal, blessed quiet for your souls. For My yoke is easy to bear, and My burden is light.
