Unforgiveness is a prison. It enslaves you, dominates your thoughts and influences your decisions.
All believers at one time were spiritually imprisoned by sin. Separated from Papa and destined for hell. Thankfully, all sins— past, present and future have been expunged from our criminal records because or Christ’s sovereign act of love.
Even before He made the world. God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He wanted to do, and it gave Him great pleasure.
So we praise God for the glorious grace He has poured out on us who belong to His dear Son. He is so rich in kindness and grace that He purchased our freedom with the blood of His Son and forgave our sins. Ephesians 1:4-7t
As Papa has graciously forgiven your sin, as a disciple of Christ you must also graciously forgive others. Unconditional forgiveness is the foundation upon which a virtueous relationship can be built. If this is an impossiblity, then…
Unselfishly seek the best or higher good for your enemies. Pray for those who persecute you so that you may show yourselves to be the children of your Father who is in heaven. For He makes His sun rise on those who are evil and on those who are good, and makes the rain fall on the righteous— those who are morally upright and the unrighteous, the unrepentant— those who oppose Him.
For if you love only those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do that? If you greet only your brothers, wishing them God’s blessing and peace, what more than others are you doing? Do not even the Gentiles who do not know the Lord do that? You, therefore, will be perfect. Growing into spiritual maturity both in mind and character. Actively integrating godly values into your daily life, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
