EARTHLY OR ETERNAL FAME
Increasingly, being famous is the goal of many. Fueled by reality television and social media. Many willingly sacrifice careers and relationships for the pursuit of the limelight. Foolishly believing if you are famous, you will be remembered and love forever.
Better is a poor but wise youth than an old but foolish king who no longer pays attention to warnings. For he came from prison to be king, even though he was born poor in his kingdom. I saw all the living who move about under the sun follow a second youth who succeeds him.
There is no limit to all the people who were before them. Yet those who come later will not rejoice in him. This too is futile and a pursuit of the wind. Ecclesiastes 4:14-16
Want to be wise, not foolish?
One word— Jesus.
“Those people who hear what I say and live according to My teachings. You are like a wise man who built his house on a rock, on a firm foundation. When storms hit, rain pounded down and waters rose, levies broke and winds beat all the walls of that house. The house did not fall because it was built upon rock.
Those of you who are listening and do not hear. You are like a fool who builds a house on sand. When a storm comes to his house. What will happen? The rain will fall, the waters will rise, the wind will blow and his house will collapse with a great crash.” Matthew 7:24-27
Because all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Jesus. You must…
Build your life upon the foundation of His righteousness, not yours.
Submit to His Lordship. He is the King, and you are His servant.
When Jesus came announcing, “Repent. Change your inner self— your old way of thinking. Regret past sins. Live your life in a way that proves repentance. Seek God’s purpose for your life for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matthew 4:17
Jesus put both mankind and the supernatural realm on notice.
Papa’s will on earth is accomplished through Him.
Jesus conquers evil.
By His righteousness, humanity can be liberated from the bondage of self, sin and satan.
As a disciple of Christ your are to…
Admonish those who are out of line— the undisciplined, the unruly, the disorderly.
Encourage the timid who lack spiritual courage.
Help the spiritually weak.
Be very patient with everyone, always controlling your temper.
See that no one repays another with evil for evil. Always seek that which is good for one another and for all people.
Rejoice always and delight in your faith.
Be unceasing and persistent in prayer.
In every situation, no matter what the circumstances, be thankful and continually give thanks to God. For this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.
Do not quench, subdue or be unresponsive to the working and guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Do not scorn or reject gifts of prophecy or prophecies— spoken revelations—words of instruction or exhortation or warning.
Test all things carefully so you can recognize what is good.
Hold firmly to that which is good.
Abstain from every form of evil, withdraw and keep away from it. 1 Thessalonians 5:14-22
We prove ourselves by our purity, our understanding, our patience, our kindness, by the Holy Spirit within us and by our sincere love. We faithfully preach the truth. God’s power is working in us. We use the weapons of righteousness in the right hand for attack and the left hand for defense. 2 Corinthians 6:6-7
Exchange that ten year plan of yours for Christ’s eternal plan.
You may never be famous on this side of eternity.
You’ll never be forgotten on the other side of eternity.
