So many in this world have never experienced Papa’s exquisite love— Jesus.
Jesus…
Frees you from the chains of sin.
Reveals Papa’s beauty, glory residing in you.
Whispers into your heart, “You are My beloved whom I will not forsake.”
Creates a good plan for your life because no one is beyond redemption.
BUT
No one escapes rainy days— troubles on this side of eternity. Heartache and uncertainty are guaranteed.
Fear not!
If you have a spiritual rainy day account, you can make withdrawals when the storms of life threaten to bankrupt your soul.
Here are a few teachings of Jesus you can deposit into that rainy day account.
“Everyone who comes to Me and listens to My words and obeys them. I will show you whom he is like.
He is like a far-sighted, practical and sensible man building a house. Who dug deep and laid a foundation on the rock, and when a flood occurred. The torrent burst against that house and yet could not shake it because it had been securely built and founded on the rock.
But the one who has merely heard and has not practiced what I say is like a foolish man. Who built a house on the ground without any foundation, and the torrent burst against it. It immediately collapsed, and the ruin of that house was great.” Luke 6:46-49
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. The second is like it. You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Unselfishly seek the best or higher good for others.” Matthew 22:37-39
“Then Peter came to Him and asked, “Lord, how many times will my brother sin against me and I forgive him and let it go? Up to seven times?”
Jesus answered him, “I say to you, not up to seven times, but seventy times seven.
The kingdom of heaven is like a king who wished to settle accounts with his slaves. When he began the accounting, one who owed him 10,000 talents was brought to him.
But because he could not repay, his master ordered him to be sold with his wife and his children and everything that he possessed, and payment to be made.
So the slave fell on his knees and begged him. Saying, ‘Have patience with me, and I will repay you everything.’
And his master’s heart was moved with compassion, and he released him and forgave him. Canceling the debt.
But that same slave went out and found one of his fellow slaves who owed him a hundred denarii. He seized him and began choking him.
Saying, ‘Pay what you owe!’
So his fellow slave fell on his knees and begged him earnestly, ‘Have patience with me, and I will repay you.’
But he was unwilling, and he went and had him thrown in prison until he paid back the debt. When his fellow slaves saw what had happened. They were deeply grieved, and they went and reported to their master with clarity and in detail everything that had taken place.
Then his master called him and said to him, ‘You wicked and contemptible slave, I forgave all that great debt of yours because you begged me. Should you not have had mercy on your fellow slave who owed you little by comparison, as I had mercy on you?’
In wrath his master turned him over to the torturers, jailers, until he paid all that he owed. My heavenly Father will also do the same to every one of you. If each of you does not forgive his brother from your heart.” Matthew 18:21-35
“Repent— change your inner self— your old way of thinking— regret past sins. Live your life in a way that proves repentance. Seek God’s purpose for your life for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matthew 3:2
When Jesus saw the crowds, He went up on the mountain. When He was seated. His disciples came to Him. Then He began to teach them.
Saying, “Blessed— spiritually prosperous, happy, to be admired are the poor in spirit. Those devoid of spiritual arrogance. Those who regard themselves as insignificant. Theirs is the kingdom of heaven both now and forever.
“Blessed— forgiven, refreshed by God’s grace are those who mourn over their sins and repent. They will be comforted when the burden of sin is lifted.
“Blessed— inwardly peaceful, spiritually secure, worthy of respect are the gentle— the kind-hearted, the sweet-spirited, the self-controlled. They will inherit the earth.
“Blessed— joyful, nourished by God’s goodness are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. Those who actively seek right standing with God. They will be completely satisfied.
“Blessed— content, sheltered by God’s promises are the merciful. They will receive mercy.
“Blessed— anticipating God’s presence, spiritually mature are the pure in heart— those with integrity, moral courage and godly character. They will see God.
“Blessed— spiritually calm with life-joy in God’s favor are the makers and maintainers of peace. They will express His character and be called the sons of God.
“Blessed— comforted by inner peace and God’s love are those who are persecuted for doing that which is morally right. Theirs is the kingdom of heaven both now and forever.
“Blessed— morally courageous and spiritually alive with life-joy in God’s goodness are you when people insult you and persecute you. Falsely say all kinds of evil things against you because of your association with Me. Be glad and exceedingly joyful. Your reward in heaven is great, absolutely inexhaustible. In this same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” Matthew 5:1-12
Be wise. Open a rainy day account. Jesus is your flood insurance for the storms of life.
