Resting in the Lord is a condition of the heart. It cannot be added as a task on your to do list.
When your heart is at rest. You clearly hear Papa’s voice. Gently encouraging you to seek His ways and become like His Son Jesus.
The pursuit of becoming Christ-like is paramount in the life of a disciple of Christ. Developing character traits that align themselves with Papa’s righteousness— His truth.
Saying no must be an integral component of this character development program. This will require courage because others will be offended. You will be ridiculed, ostracized and persecuted for saying no to…
Traditions of man.
Temporal rewards.
Being overly involved in someone else’s goals or problems because it is not on Papa’s agenda for your life.
Compromising Papa’s truth or living a spiritually mediocre life in order to maintain relationships.
Saying no will require an uncommon, courageous faith. A faith others will brand as foolishness because it places its confidence and trust in Almighty God.
Papa is holy, eternal and sovereign. No one compares to Him. Papa alone defines what is righteous, Christ-like.
Papa shares His Kingdom with His children but only on His terms.
Say yes to Papa and His righteousness and hello to an uncommon courage— valor under fire.
If you are tired from carrying heavy burdens, come to Me and I will give you rest. Take the yoke I give you. Put it on your shoulders and learn from Me. I am gentle and humble, and you will find rest. This yoke is easy to bear, and this burden is light.
Matthew 11:28-30 (Contemporary English Version)
