How many times on New Year’s Day have you vowed to make a positive change in your life? Only later becoming disillusioned, discouraged and disappointed because the change took longer than anticipated.
It was painful.
There was sacrifice.
Nothing happening as you planned or envisioned.
Habits are difficult to change because they are automatic routines of behavior. Involving little or no conscious thought. This is also true spiritually.
Becoming a repentant believer will not occur automatically or overnight. Saying goodbye to self-centeredness requires a heart transplant AND a mind transplant.
Many never experience spiritual transformation because of the fear of the unknown. Overly concerned with self-perseveration. They are continually focused on circumstances rather than Papa and His truth.
Seeking personal glory and the praise of man. They remain unrepentant. Refusing to obey Papa’s commands and precepts. Crowning the acquisition of knowledge and adherence to rules and rituals king.
Accept Papa’s offer of grace today and every day. Become the new and improved you— the image of Christ.
Then He said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be My follower, you must turn from your selfish ways. Take up your cross daily and follow Me.”
