Amazing Grace is a song that touches the very marrow of your soul. Frequently played at funerals and times of great suffering and sorrow. It showcases God’s loving kindness, mercy and compassion for His prodigal children. Ministering to our pain and offering us hope.
Everyone, even disciples of Jesus once followed the ways of this world and obeyed the devil. His spirit has power over everyone who doesn’t obey God. Once we were also ruled by the selfish desires of our bodies and minds. We had made God angry, and we were going to be punished like everyone else. Ephesians 2:2-3
But God is so rich in mercy, and He loved us so much. That even though we were dead because of our sin. He gave us life when He raised Christ from the dead.
It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved! God saved you by His grace when you believed, and you can’t take credit for this. It is a gift from God.
Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done. So none of us can boast about it. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:4-5 and 8-10
GO DEEPER
Yes, you may desire God in all things. But your ability to act on that desire will need God’s grace.
Your flesh and spirit are at war with one another. The innate selfishness of your mind and body will gravitate towards sin. Unless you allow the Lord to infuse you with His grace.
Strength to say…
NO to sin and YES to holiness.
NO to logic and YES to impossibility.
NO to certainty and YES to unpredictability.
NO to control and YES to submission.
NO to acceptance and YES to solitude.
NO to comfort and YES to sacrifice.
NO to timidity and YES to leadership.
NO to the fear of man and YES to the word of God.
