Can you feel it? For some it’s excitement, for others an uneasy anticipation. But all sense the brewing of the perfect storm. It will bring destruction but also much needed rain.
Brothers and sisters, you don’t need anyone to write to you about times and dates. You know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.
When people say, “Everything is safe and sound!”
Destruction will suddenly strike them. It will be as sudden as labor pains come to a pregnant woman. They won’t be able to escape.
But brothers and sisters you don’t live in the dark. That day won’t take you by surprise as a thief would. You belong to the day and the light, not to the night and the dark. Therefore, we must not fall asleep like other people, but we must stay awake and be sober.
People who sleep, sleep at night. People who get drunk, get drunk at night.
Since we belong to the day. We must be sober. We must put on faith and love as a breastplate and the hope of salvation as a helmet.
It was not God’s intention that we experience His anger. But that we obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. He died for us so that whether we are awake in this life or asleep in death. We will live together with Him.
Therefore, encourage each other and strengthen one another. 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11
Yes, Jesus is returning for His Bride. His Church. His followers.
A radiant church. Without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish. Holy and blameless. Ephesians 5:27
It is time to stop playing church and become the Church.
Spiritually mature.
Courageous.
Defiant.
A Church who no longer tolerates anything that is not of God and is faithful to Her one and only true love, Jesus.
What a glorious moment that will be when Jesus and His Church are wed! This spiritual act of sanctification and consecration will be like no other.
Imagine standing in the great hall with all the believers of the ages. All with resurrected bodies. Aglow in the glory that was originally Adam’s and Eve’s. Forever freed from the chains of sin and its repercussions.
Jesus steps forward. “Father, here is my beloved Bride. She is pure and lovely, and I give Her to You.”
Then a Light, like no other ever seen by human eyes engulfs the great hall. The moment believers through the ages have longed for is finally happening. Believers are physically face-to-face with their heavenly Father. Eternally immersed in His love.
It is this love. A Father’s love for His children that is the ultimate promise of salvation.
Love who…
Frees you from the chains of sin.
Uncovers the God given beauty, glory residing in you.
Whispers into your heart, “I will never stop pursuing you. I will not throw you away like garbage.”
Declares. You will search for the Lord your God, and you will find Him when you seek Him with all your heart and all your soul.
He will not leave you.
Destroy you.
Forget the covenant.
Because the Lord your God is a compassionate God. Deuteronomy 4:29-30
A good Papa who has a good plan for your life because no one is beyond redemption.
Remember Gomer, Hosea’s adulterous wife who was given a second chance.
Our heavenly Father knew if He sent her a savior. Gomer could become whom He created her to be. It would take faithfulness on Hosea’s part, but it was possible.
Gomer is you.
Gomer is I.
Gomer is the Church.
And our Hosea is Jesus.
Yes, our Father knows who we are.
He knows all our dark, dirty secrets.
The evil we are capable of inflicting on His creation, and yet He still loves us.
Why?
We are His Beloved!
