Insidious toxic thinking
Slowly, silently, stealthily
Intertwining poisonous thorns
A life of agonizing death

Foolishly entertaining thoughts
Negativity, discouragement
Weariness my faithful comrades

Fixated on unfulfilled dreams
Reminiscing about the past
Despising the dull, bleak present
Wandering lost, directionless

No clear vision of the future
Adrift in sea of nothingness
No compass to guide me to shore

Oh my child, this is a new day
Spiritual spring-cleaning has come
Farewell obsolete paradigms
Living for future happiness

Time to totally surrender
Immediate obedience
Don’t be afraid for I’m with you
I am the everlasting God

The Creator of all the earth
My understanding infinite
Never growing weak or weary
I am patient, slow to anger

I will give power to the weak
Mighty strength to the powerless
They will run and not grow weary
Soaring high on wings like eagles

Forget what happened yesteryear
A beautiful new day has dawned
Days of sorrow, hopelessness gone
Sins pardoned, salvation has come

Time to leave childish ways behind
