Love one another as Jesus has loved us.

This morning as I listened to If We’re Honest by Francesca Battistelli. Waves of gratefulness and love washed over me. A love I wanted and needed to share.

For more years than I care to remember. I lived life on my own terms. Erecting an impenetrable wall between everyone and me, including loved ones. Doing whatever it took to ensure I was indebted to no one. I was determined no one would ever have the power to hurt me physically or emotionally.

In the process becoming an emotional zombie— aloof and cold. Over time this slowly began devouring my soul. Unhappiness and dissatisfaction were my daily companions.

Thankfully this all changed because of God’s grace.

Grace showcases God’s loving kindness, mercy and compassion for the weak. The forgotten. The sinful. You and I.

Everyone, even believers once followed the ways of this world and obeyed the devil. Once we were also ruled by the selfish desires of our bodies and minds. We had made God angry, and we were going to be punished like everyone else.  Ephesians 2: 2-3

God is so rich in mercy, and He loved us so much. That even though we were dead because of our sins. He gave us life when He raised Christ from the dead.

It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved! God saved you by His grace when you believed, and you can’t take credit for this. It is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done. So none of us can boast about it.

He has created us anew in Christ Jesus. So we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.  Ephesians 2:4-5 and 8-10

No matter how hard you try. No matter what you do. Until you honestly admit you are broken. You will continue to drift through life. Collecting more and more thorns that pierce your heart.

Hiding your secrets and shortcomings. Becoming a hollow shell of a human being.

Quit trying to clean up your act alone! Your heavenly Father is waiting to welcome you home. Run into His arms as fast as you can.

Thankfully I did one Sunday morning.

What wrecks me every time when I think back to that Sunday is that Papa did not wait for me to seek Him. He came to me. Enclosing me inside His arms of unconditional love. Taking me just as I was— flawed and broken.

As you listen to If We’re Honest. Remember God loves you just as you are!

Promising to never forsake you. To walk with you as you become the beautiful person He created before time began.

Be a VOICE shouting into the wilderness!

“CHRIST is returning!”
