Has someone you loved or trusted stabbed you in the back? This universal life experience leaves all reeling and crying for mercy.
How do you forgive someone who has betrayed you?
Abusing your love and trust?
Impossible you say?
Nothing is impossible with God! His grace can shower your heart with compassion and forgiveness. Protecting it from being damaged by bitterness and hate.
Something I received this weekend after being betrayed by a loved one. It would have been so easy to simply harden my heart towards this individual. Preventing the heartache that still greets me each morning.
In the past I would have done this. But thanks to my heavenly Father. I am no longer that person.
Having experienced His forgiveness and love. I refuse to allow my heart to become hard and cold.
Yes, out heavenly Father is a very good Papa! Continually pursuing and wooing us with His love and goodness— especially His prodigal children.
Only in retrospect can you see His loving hand guiding you into the safety of His arms. As this former prodigal can testify.
Jesus tells such a story in the parable of the lost sheep. Reminding us the prodigals are not to be written off and forgotten.
If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them gets lost. What will he do?
Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others in the wilderness and go to search for the one that is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it. He will joyfully carry it home on his shoulders.
When he arrives. He will call together his friends and neighbors.
Saying, “Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.”
In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God. Than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away! Luke 15:14-17
Anyone who says it gives God pleasure to send the lost to hell.
Shame on you!
God so loves His children that eternity without them was never an option.
It is this love. A Papa’s extravagant love for His children that is the greatest promise of salvation.
Freeing you from the chains of sin.
Uncovering the God given beauty. Glory residing in you.
Whispering into your heart. “I will continually pursue you. I will not throw you away like garbage.”
Declaring. “You will search for the Lord your God, and you will find Him when you seek Him with all your heart and all your soul. He will not leave you, destroy you or forget the covenant because the Lord your God is a compassionate God.” Deuteronomy 4:29 and 31
Papa has a good plan for your life because no one is beyond redemption. Yes, He knows all our dark, dirty secrets. He is aware of the evil we are capable of inflicting on His creation, and yet He still loves us.
Why?
We are His Beloved!
So I will continue to forgive others. Wishing them no harm. Praying for them.
Why?
I have been be-loved by the best Papa ever. A love I want others to experience.
Be a VOICE shouting into the wilderness!
“CHRIST is returning!”
