My daughters and I went to the movies this weekend. Four of the trailers were for movies based on true events. Depicting human beings at their best.
Honorable. Courageous. Choosing to be servants of a greater good— a noble cause. Boldly confronting evil. Risking their lives so others can live in peace. Traveling the “road less traveled”.
Today, dishonesty, corruption and deception are accepted as the norm, not an aberration. The result? Hopelessness, disillusionment and cynicism wrap its barbed arms around hearts. Making many incapable of
- envisioning a future filled with promise and authentic love.
- stepping out into the unknown and risking it all.
- prevailing over the negative circumstances of life.
- confronting injustice.
What does character development, morality or even sin have to do with justice?
Everything!
It is the Lord’s righteousness that brings moral order to the world. When His righteousness reigns. Justice prevails. Relationships honored. Mercy graciously extended. Wrongs resolved. Anger, hostility and violence eradicated. Peace rules.
God promises us. “Instead of shame and dishonor, you will enjoy a double share of honor. You will possess a double portion of prosperity in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours.
For I the Lord loves justice. I hate robbery and wrongdoing. I will faithfully reward My people for their suffering and make an everlasting covenant with them. Their descendants will be recognized and honored among the nations. Everyone will realize that they are a people the Lord has blessed” (Isaiah 61:7-9)
Sin thwarts the Lord’s justice. Substituting God’s Truth with a fluid, negotiable truth. It is the absence of God’s eternal Truth that breeds wickedness.
Live a life that showcases Truth— God’s justice. Loudly and boldly declare, “There is only one Truth, and His name is Jesus.”
How different would your life and our world be? If believers truly lived like Jesus is alive?
Be a VOICE in the deafening sound of sameness!
