Love one another as Jesus has loved us.

Hold Me! Hold Me!Are you in a holding pattern? Transitioning from what was to what will be. It is not easy!

For this recovering perfectionist, I had to learn how to maintain a positive attitude while waiting patiently. Believe me it was not easy!

Before I allowed the Lord to be the author of my story. My days were crammed with activity. I equated activity with productivity because it provided a false sense of control.

Thankfully, I have learned all healing and restoration requires resting in the Lord. A rest that declares

  • neither the past nor the future has power— only the present.
  • I am not God.
  • my efforts without the Holy Spirit’s guidance will be futile.

When you rest in the Lord. You allow Him to care for you.

This rest cannot be added as a task on your “to do list” because it is a condition of the heart. When your heart is at rest. The chaos and uncertainty of your circumstances are drowned out by the loving voice of the Lord. Gently encouraging you.

Stand at the crossroads and look. Ask which paths are the old, reliable paths. Ask which way leads to blessings. Live that way and find a resting place for yourselves. Jeremiah 6:16

What are the reliable paths?

Do not envy those who do wicked things. They will quickly dry up like grass and wither away like green plants.

Trust the Lord and do good things.

Live in the land and practice being faithful.

Be happy with the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.

Entrust your ways to the Lord.

Trust Him, and He will act on your behalf. He will make your righteousness shine like a light, your just cause like the noonday sun.

Surrender yourself to the Lord and wait patiently for Him.

Do not be preoccupied with an evildoer who succeeds in His way when he carries out his schemes.

Let go of anger and leave rage behind.

Do not be preoccupied. It only leads to evil. Evildoers will be cut off from their inheritance, but those who wait with hope for the Lord will inherit the land. Psalm 37:1-9

Do not worry about the failures of the past, the troubles of the present or the uncertainty of the future. With thankful hearts, offer up your prayers and requests to God. Then, because you belong to Christ Jesus. God will bless you with peace that no one can completely understand, and this peace will control the way you think and feel. Philippians 4:6-7

You will then be able to truthfully declare.

I have learned how to be content. Satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed or disquieted in whatever state I am.

I know how to be abased and live humbly in straitened circumstances. I know also how to enjoy plenty and live in abundance.

I have learned in any and all circumstances the secret of facing every situation. Whether well-fed or going hungry. Having a sufficiency and enough to spare or going without and being in want.

I have strength for all things in Christ who empowers me. I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses inner strength into me.

I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency. Philippians 4:11-13

I must confess there are times when I can sense myself drifting over to the dark side of perfectionism.

So what do I do?

I run to my Daddy. Shouting, Hold me! Hold me!

The Lord has never failed to gather me up in His arms. Reminding me I am His beloved, and nothing I do or do not do will every change that!

Be a VOICE in the deafening sound of sameness!

Be a VOICE shouting in the darkness. Lets love others!
