If I offend anyone, please forgive me!
Sitting in a rocker on a front porch. Watching life pass you by is one of my versions of hell on earth. Two others are living in a retirement community and traveling the country in a RV.
Not one to lay back. Hitting the snooze button as life passes me by. Retirement from life is not in my long-range plans.
Who wants to be surrounded by sameness? Subscribe to the idea that like-mindedness is empowering. Uncomplicated by relationships that stretch your thinking and inspire you to never stop dreaming.
Give me the messiness of multi-generational thinking and cooperation any day. After all, who wants to be the poster child for Benjamin Franklin’s quote? “Some people die at 25 and aren’t buried until 75.”
NOT ME!
So here’s to my fellow life-sojourners. Traversing life with the optimism of youth and the wisdom of age. Embarking on encore careers that combine making a living with making a difference. Pursuing dreams once deferred.
Life-sojourners who dance to a different drummer. Valuing social and political justice more than their bank accounts. For whom people are a resource, not a commodity.
As far as this life-sojourner is concerned. HER BEST IS YET TO COME!
What about you?
Be a VOICE in the deafening sound of sameness!
