letsloveothers

Love one another as Jesus has loved us.

Hey Guys! Never one to shy away from trying something new. Here’s my first attempt writing poetry since elementary school. Hope you enjoy it.

O cruel cruel love

Haunting my days and nights

Robber of sleep

Sower of desire

Temptress of the unattainable

**********

Mockingly reminding me of

His fiery touch on cool skin

Melting into his loving embrace

The breathless whisper of I love you

**********

Unable to endure love’s cruelty

I looked upward and pleaded with the morning sky

Please tell me your secret

How do you say goodbye each night to your stars

Tenderly the morning sky answered

Because I know the stars will always be waiting for me

**********

Not satisfied

I swam out into the ocean’s depth and pleaded

Please tell me your secret

How do you watch the seashore embrace your waves

Tenderly the ocean answered

Because I know the waves will always return to me

**********

Unconvinced

I pounded the keys of the piano and pleaded

Please tell me your secret

How do you allow anyone to play your beautiful music

Tenderly the piano answered

Because I know the music will always be played just for me

**********

As I sat down with pen in hand

To record what I had learned

I realized what I once saw as love’s cruelty

Is truly love’s beauty

**********

Trusting another so completely

That one is confident

Neither time, distance, nor the affection of others

Will ever replace you in the heart of your true love.

**********

O beautiful beautiful love!

Thanks for listening to my voice! Feel free to like and share it with your friends.

Have a great day! Rita

Be the VOICE heard amidst the deafening sound of sameness!

Be a VOICE shouting in the silence. Lets love others!
