It’s in the darkness of death… loss… uncertainty where the authenticity of your relationship with the Lord is revealed. Simply knowing about God— religion is useless. Religion is powerless to provide the support needed in times of tribulation. Only an authentic and intimate relationship with the Lord has the power to resurrect life from death.
Sadly, for most of my life I knew the God of religion. Not the God whose unconditional love accepts you as you are at this moment in time. Yes, He knows all of your dark, dirty secrets. The evil you’ve inflicted. He nevertheless still loves you because that’s who He is. LOVE. He has no other option but to focus on the innate beauty that He has deposited in you, not the ugliness of your sin. A beauty that He will nurture and bring to the surface if you will give Him the key to your heart— your undying love.
Quit resisting the magnetic pull of His all-consuming love! Surrender! Allow His love to wash away the ugliness in you and reveal the beauty that was there all along.
