Love one another as Jesus has loved us.

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about relationships, and how the absence of authentic and transparent communication damages relationships and leaves us feeling alone in a crowd. So alone, that we frequently throw away the love others have willingly given us.

Authentic, healthy relationships begin with embracing the truth that mankind was created to be in community. Sadly, few understand what this means much less how to create it. A community where commonality of thoughts— ideas isn’t what unites but rather a genuine love for one and another.

Have you ever thought what God’s middle name would be if He had one? I think it would 7e0347d3b71d560201b8ff3426fb0bdebe Diversity. One has only to look at His creation to deduce this. Did you know that there are more than 8,000 species of ants… 10 million colors… 250,000 species of flowers… 5,000 ethnic groups? Evidently, the Creator isn’t satisfied with a single specimen of anything. This diversity is what adds beauty and wonder to our world and our lives.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to live in a monochromatic world where sameness and conformity is encouraged and valued. Instead, I want to “paint” a world— a community where authenticity is the medium. Where diversity and originality are nurtured and honored.

I believe it’s time us “painters” beautified this world with a fresh coat of authenticity. I’m tired of the palette of sameness.
